At a guess, bblochs. He has sent his car to AA for tuning which has apparently brought their e39 s/c/ project further up their to-do list

          Stu

EDIT: In fact, twin you say? IIRC bbloch is using a 'low boost' single (i find it funny when people call 490 WRHP 'low' anything). Most interesting, it must be someone else....

What kind of sucks for Discovery is that AA has a S/C kit to basically copy and build upon, make some changes, probably some improvements. Can we say well over 50% off the R&D is already there in their face on Bloch's car? If Bloch is reading this I hope you are getting a free deal from AA. They will make a s*** load of cash esp. if the kit comes out before the rest of the competitions and proves worthy in which it should.

So is this to say this kit has been from RMS to DA revised, to AA revised???

Just some thoughts, not accusing anyone. IMO no one is innocent, In this industry today it seems everone takes a bite here and there.

sorry dude, but i disagree.. if merc can get it right on their various "55" kompressor engines, surely the S62 can be done, just takes alot of r&d and testing to be reliable.

That was my thought as well.

But it is the nature of the beast (so to speak)- in any business. You look to create 'barriers to entry' for competitors, either patent protection, market posiiton, etc., etc. In this area is is impossible. (With the exception of what Dinan has done to try to protect their franchise)

You make your cash while you can.

Lower compression a different block, a plenum setup that allows for the twin screw blower to sit perfactly...It's alot different.

I think the M5 engine can be done but not cheaply reliably and what not with alot of boost, say 6 would be plenty, and at that level, you should just keep it N/A and max out that power.

Re: AA Tuning Twin SC E39 M5

This is great news for those wanting s/c'ed.

Hey Ray, why sketchy? the pics look to show intake of air like that same area in the fenders/bumper cover as a CAI. Also our cars do have belly pans so everything is covered from below. Seems fine to me.

I'm guessing some of the pics couldn't be viewed, as they look nothing like a Vortec setup, RMS,D/A, or Dinan. Nothing to be copied at all. Those Rotrex chargers are very different than a vortec , not as efficient from most people I've heard. But in a low boost app. like what we'd use on our S62 motors it'd probably be fine. Low boost being 7psi and lower in most motors.
The D/A setup is killer, one off parts, billet machined this and that, water injection, piggy back computer and injectors,ect,ect,....Awesome!
This AA kit looks like they got it partly from another tuner overseas, it looks like a easy install ,meaning you could do it yourself if comfortable, 8 hours I thought I read somewhere. ( I s/c'ed my m3 myself on a saturday back in 98' , RMS had said 7-9 hours install time.)

I don't know why anyone would suggest m5's shouldn't be forcefed, it's just a trickier animal with more R&D to be considered and parimeters that can be attained , both from performance, money, reliability,ect...

          Tin, I agree with you.
