So after many years of being on this forum, and many years after the totaled 540I, I've finally got me one of these and boy am I excited to start tinkering again!!
more to come!!
It'll need a full buff and polish to get some of the swirl marks and also some paint correction. Will need new rear bumper and would like new front bumper.
lots of little things needs to be addressed.

Congrats on your new acquisition!
If paint correction and that list of items are all what you need at the moment, id say youre in good shape.

I'm hoping to make a run out to long island soon just so i can hang out instead of coming out for "business"
Once I get a schedule, I'll definitely stop by.
Chuck, I've bought plenty of projects that I've not been able to finish, I didn't want to make that mistake again, so I got one that needed very little work so I can enjoy it :)

anyone in central jersey wants to hang out?????????

Is that meant for the e39? Do you have a part number?

not sure which kit it is, however I can take measurements of the rotor size.
Brembo 4 pot front and rear, no adapters needed, that's all I know so far, haven't taken the car apart to see everything hidden yet.
will update frequently.
updates:
shoe maker has to have nice shoes!!
stock bay with AFE intake

BC coil overs, need to look them over, from what I see, one of the locking collar is missing :(

since I have plenty of these laying around, out with the old and in with the new
6061 AL, machined, anodized, then engraved

after installed

stock part

power rear sunshade is broken lol, need to fix that too, good thing i have these in stock too. video of DIY will come, plenty of people has asked for instructions.

On your BC coilovers there should be only three rings, two of which are locking rings.

yea, I finally took off the wheels and the lower collar is missing, might send the front units back or make my own collars if I can find the pitch of the thread on the shock body. maybe I can just call them up and ask or maybe they sell just the collar?
the front rotors are 355mm x 32mm
also from the pictures I cannot see any adapters on the calipers

took her grocery shopping!!

in the mean time while the machine is busy, I'd figure i'll check on the air filter and make sure it's in tip top shape

hmmmmmmmmmmm dirty little b$&*%
after a little shacking and smacking the filters together................

WOW!!!
washed them and blew it out with the air gun from inside of filter out then oiled them again, came out 99% better

had some time to f around with the machine today.

milled that off so face is flat, then drill and tapped it.

made a quick fixture plate

aluminum plate painted with truck bed liner mounted to fixture

engraved and profiled

chamfer all edge and tapped 4 holes

close up of engraving

make sure chamfer on center hole is deep enough so bolt sits flush

modified tow hook installed

bolt plate on tow hook

plate mounted

enjoy!!
