Can anyone recommend a shipper that will do closed carrier for a decent price?
I'm getting quoted at like 2100+ from every place I contact, but I keep finding older threads where people are claiming to have gotten cars shipped in a closed carrier for like 1200 or so.
Thanks a lot for the recommendations everybody. I called all of the places recommended here and I ended up getting the best quote from a place called DIY Transport I saw referenced in another thread on this topic. 1300 enclosed from LA to New England.
If anyone ever finds this thread, ask for Terriann at DIY, she was extremely helpful.
That's super cheap. I hope it works out for you. For that cost I would consider sending a car out west for me to use on an extended vacation so I can enjoy the CA roads and a 1-way ride back. One thing about carriers, most damage, when it occurs, tends to be when loading and unloading. See if you can get a guaranteed first in position, and on top as well so stuff can't fall on your vehicle.
Edit: also make sure they use tire tie-downs and not a chain to your chassis/suspension or strap through your wheel. I ended up having to file a claim with Passport because of the strap they used through my rim.
Intercity Lines is #1, across the board. Same company Jay Leno uses for all his cars. And Gas Monkey. And Wayne Carini. I've used them at least twice myself. Top notch service, without any issues or concerns. Enclosed Auto Transport - Intercity Lines
