...Funny was telling Eric (EAG) that when I got this car I was going up for Lemans one he just got in and to check this one out on the side. The pics did not do this car justice and as fate would have it this one was the better deal for me. Everywhere I go it draws a crowd over the color.
That sure is funny because that's how I was when I went to look at mine at the Porsche dealership 70 miles away. From the pics on their website, I wasn't too sold on the burgundy. Since I really wanted the Caramel interior so I went to look at it anyway. Once I saw it in person, the rest was history.
Looks absolutely amazing. Your detailer did one hell of a job - and your original paint seems to be in great shape as well. Here's my most recent Chiaretto picture
Thanks for all your comments. Funny was telling Eric (EAG) that when I got this car I was going up for Lemans one he just got in and to check this one out on the side. The pics did not do this car justice and as fate would have it this one was the better deal for me. Everywhere I go it draws a crowd over the color. While the paint was in very good condition to begin with it needed an extra bump that I didnt have the skills or tools to provide to defend my concours win next year.
Nsogiba - yeah the amber rears set it off perfectly as theres a bit of orangish hue in paint plus headlight corners
Chuffy - I cant view your pics at work for some reason, I will check it out when home. I remember when you got your detail it was my inspiration to get mine done.
Mandangalo - is the paint correctable? How long have you owned it?
Look at that reflection! Awesome job getting rid of the horrible orange peel these cars came from the factory with. Everyone should invest in a good polish and seal to rid that dreaded orange peel! The newer cars are even worse!
I see more pictures of this beast online then in person! Brian does fantastic work (I should probably go see him again, since it's been about 2 years since my last paint correction). This is Concours status folks, well done Mark.
Im thinking of doing a fall meet of e39's. Jdauria has coordinated before we can work together post summer craziness and before the winter slumber for the beasts hit, well winter slumber for mine anyway.
I have a friend in VA Beach area thats interested in the drive and your not far in PA to come down for the event. Keep an eye on local/regional section for updates.
I am up for another gathering. Let make this one a LOT closer to the Beltway so I do not have to double my annual mileage to attend.
:grin:grin:grin:grin:grin:grin
