Can you help me read this date??

Hello guys!

I can't figure out the date on my radiator... Is it year 2003 or is it year 2014?? Funny is the car is 2003 so I can't tell if this is the original radiator... Is this even possible?? The car has 164K miles...

I noticed Behr uses the first set as the year but they usually spell it out as in YYYY/MM/DD or YYYY/DD/MM format. My Behr fan clutch has the year at the beginning but it's 4 digit year...

It is near impossible because so many don't follow standards. When not using 4 digits for the year the year should be last but the month should be in roman numerals. So ...
You will have to be a detective. The rad could easily be original, it has only been in the last few years we have seen a bunch of rad replacements. Not because of failure but because of poor cooling. I would assume it is an 2003 unless something detected told me different. Is the sticker lifting is there any shine left to the aluminum. Is the plastic dull, are the bolts easy to remove. Likely you will find separate numbers on the plastic with a plastic ID mark and often a date of manufacture.

Answer these questions why figure it out? Are you having issues? If you are likely it is an 2003

Well, I'm not having issues... But just prioritizing my preventive maintenance. I figured if the radiator is 2014 then I'll leave it and do something else. But looks like it is 2003... Looking at the sticker itself, I think a 2014 radiator would have a cleaner sticker than that one. There are no leaks as far as I know and now coolant smell.

I'm just surprised that it held up this much as the E39 had massive cooling system issues... Maybe not the M5 I guess.

On another side note, I replaced my fan and fan clutch a week or so ago but the cluster KTEMP hits 90 on hot days and I don't always hear the fan. How can I tell if I got a brand new but possibly defective clutch? Many said that the clutch should engage at around 75 degrees... It's just not the case with mine.
