Oil dipstick chute loose - advice please

I was inspecting my engine compartment today and noted that the oil dipstick seemed loose - it moved front to back slightly. I looked closer and noticed the bolt which secures the dipstick chute to the engine is gone, thus allowing the travel.

Everything is working fine but I wonder if this is important enough to take it to dealer to have a new bolt put on before my next scheduled service (which will be in about 2000 miles).

I tried to circle the place where the bolt goes in on these pictures, but it is difficult to see.

Kevin it takes a M6*16 bolt with a washer (part no 07119900250 from BMW). It will probably last until your next service because the dip stick tube is also held in place with a bracket from below, but keep an eye on it.

I just recently had the same problem, and here's my post about it.

Wiggly Jiggly Dipstick Tube--Anyone Else?????

I didn't lose the bolt though!

Now I gotta know, what was the build date of your car? Could we all have had bad bolt tightners on duty that day at the factory?
