Exclamation Minnesota M5 Drive/Reconnaisance Run April 10th

Hope everyone had a great Winter. Spring beckons our Beasts back to the winding asphalt ******* of Southeastern Minnesota. Stacey has already sent out emails to our group, and I would like to extend an invitation to anyone else out there who may be interested, to join us on our first drive of the 2005 season, April 10th.

We will be reconnoitering the challenging and beautiful backroads near Whitewater State Park(some of which I scouted last season), and I will finalize the route and itinerary soon.

I look forward to yet another memorable and rewarding season behind the wheel!

Al!!!!! How are you? Glad to see you folks are finally thawing out too! It's been a long one hasn't it!!

Well, because we have such a short time up here in this part of the country, it's time to make up for for what we've lost.

Here's wishing us all a very, very enjoyable driving season.

I'll be in touch!

Anita

Re: Minnesota M5 Drive/Reconnaisance Run April 10th

Hi Al and Anita:

As I was driving home this evening I saw the street sweepers picking
up the salt and sand left over from 5 months of winter. I know its time to
start driving. By April 10th we should have some rain to get rid of the
salt and it will be safe for respectable machinery to be on the road
again. Emails have been sent to the usual suspects. Hopefully, we
will have a good response. Looking forward to some spirited driving.
Best regards,
Stacey

Hey All,

The ladyfriend and I should be joining up in the morning, but we'll have to take off after lunch so Clara can catch her flight back home. An entire morning of spirited driving should be plenty to start off the season though

See you all on Sunday,

Pierce!

Re: Minnesota M5 Drive/Reconnaisance Run April 10th

Hi, gang, I am finalizing plans for this Sunday. Is everyone OK with an 0800 or 0830 start time, as Stacey proposed? We have always started at 0930 in deference to the commute to our rendezvous location, but we can definitely start earlier.

Since Justin and Clara have to leave for MSP after lunch, we could also change our rendezvous location to Owatonna, where we can top off with 93 octane at the BP and then head east via some of my favorite backroads in Steele and Dodge counties. It would also probably take slightly less time for everyone to get to Owatonna than down to the Rochester area.

I have everything else worked out, so let me know what works best for you and we will see if there is some consensus.

Re: Minnesota M5 Drive/Reconnaisance Run April 10th

Hey Al & Justin:

Looks like a very select group of enthusiasts for the first run.
My schedule is flexable so we can accommodte Clara's travel plans.
As soon as the starting time and location are finalized, I will send another
email to the group .
Best regards,
Stacey

Stacey,
Sad to say, it looks very doubtful I can show up Sunday--sent Al an email last night with all the blah blah details . You all have a wonderful drive and I'll miss you folks!
Until next time,
Anita

Hey Anita:

Sorry to hear you won't be able to join us. I was looking forward to
hearing some racy stories (from the track). Are you still tracking the M5?
We'll see you next time,
Stacey

It looks like my M Coupe will be starting out my track season. The poor thing's going to see 5 days at Road Am and 1 at Blackhawk this April and May. I still would hate to drive my M5 that hard...yet!! But I did just get some new, nice and agressive and sticky looking summer tires for my M5, so you know--I'll try to stay out of trouble.

You all ENJOY!! And pics and a write-up please!!

Anita

Anita, you will be missed on Sunday, but we will catch up with you next time.
Did you get brand new PS2s?
