I finally got "her"...

Hello All,

I have been a member of this site for 5 years. I joined when I had my E34 M5. Since I sold it 4 years ago and replaced it with my E30 M3 I have not been around much. Well not all all till recently.

I started my search back in late October. I spend the better part of 2-3 months studying the market. (thanks ard!)

In February I got serious and looked at cars and had some of you look at them for me. (thanks Chuck!)

I was not satisfied with what was on the open market. Actually Wake Champ had/has an incredible 2000 but I really wanted an 01. So I searched some old classified here on the board and emailed 01M5 to see if he was interested in selling his car again. He had it for sale and then took it off the market. He emailed me back saying he was selling it again. We talked about it for about 2-3 weeks and I finally decided his car was the only car for me. We came to a fair price and I picked her up today.

I got to drive her from Columbus Georgia back to Tampa Florida. About 426 miles if pure vehicular bliss!!

Here are the vitals:

2001 LMB/Caramel
Luxury interior
M-Audio
PDC
12,000 miles yup, an 01 with 12K on the clock!
Fikse wheels
Kelleners Cans
X pipe
Powerchip
Extensive stone guard
UUC SSK DSSR
Dinan rear bar
Beastpower brackets
tec cup holder.

This car is 99.99% flawless!!! Also has a waranty till 2010 or 15K. Aftermarket AAA but better than nothing. Coverage looks good.

Thanks to all of you that contribute to this great forum. I could not have found it without all of you. And a special thanks to 01M5. I know you were sad to see her go.

Jordan

Jordan,

I'm really glad you chose that one! Beautiful car. I can't imagine how the beast sounds with the x-pipe and Kelleners. How loud is it in the cabin (cruising speeds, droning, noise level in the back seat, etc.)? I'm sure you'll be much happier with that immaculate 01 than the 02 I looked at for you.

Sometime you'll have to come up to VIR with your M3 for some track fun. The March CCA event on VIR Grand East (33 turns, 4.2 miles) was outstanding. The Oktoberfest this year is at Greensboro/VIR, and it would be nice for as many M5 board members as possible to attend.

Enjoy the beast!

Chuck

Thanks Chuck!

She is fantastic. Just finished giving her a bath. The Kelleners and the x-pipe are great. Not too loud at all. Nice muted tone in the cabin. Not sure what it sounds like in the back seat. Don't plan on spending any time back there, if you know what I mean. Highway speeds are a non issue for the sound. Very nice and not intrusive at all. No droning. Full throttle is spectacular!

I am planning on Ofest with the M3 and the M5. So I will see you at the track. Watch out for me in the corners!!!!

I know I have thanked you severl times but I think it is people like you that make this board and the internet for that matter a vgreat place to spend time.

Terk: Thanks. I was not suure about the color during my initial search. I wanted anthracite. But LMB is wonderful and with the caramel I feel like I am sitting on beautiful funiture.

Best,

Jordan

Awesome, that's the car I wanted. Better-than-new, perfectly broken-in, pre-modded, ready for primetime driving enjoyment.

Re: I finally got "her"...

Jordon Congrats, nice color and appears to be in very good condition from someone who appreciated her before you.
While I really love the color, I saw too many blue E39 cars here in Europe that were not Ms and washing is always a job here, so I took the easy road and got the 'see them everywhere' silver.
Oh well, I like it.

I totally undestand about the color. Harder to keep clean than a silver car. But I like to wash and detail my cars so it is a pleasure moment for me. Like working on them as well.

Best,

Jordan

Re: I finally got "her"...

I think your color looks great! I'll bet it's easier to clean than CBM too.

Enjoy!
