Garage Lifts?

Hi guys
We moved into our new home in south Fla. with 3 car Garage. the problem is she is only letting me have one bay. ..
We've got the Beast,2 harleys an Odyssey.her Range Rover. and then theres the kids stuff: bikes, scooters...
So I'm looking for a lift I can put the bikes on,over the Beast.
Anyone have one? rotary lifts or american custom lifts seem good..
any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanx in advance.
Des

Re: Garage Lifts?

I sympathize with you; a man needs room for his motorsports. You probably thought of this: How about a shed/barn in the back yard for the extra stuff? I did this and my Beast has plenty of room to "breath" in my 3-car garage now. All the kids stuff and tools and extras do NOT belong in the garage. Good luck

Re: Garage Lifts?

The tools are ok it's the saftey of the beast and the harleys that concern me.You know how kids and bicycles are. They come into the garage and toss things anywhere. I've settled on the far bay so no one will have reason or excuse to be near My toys...Childish I know...

Re: Garage Lifts?

Des: for what it's worth, I just ordered my second Rotary lift, a four poster this time. It won't fit in my garage, so I rented some warehouse space nearby, which has room for six or seven cars, workspace, and office space.

I picked Rotary because I kept seeing them at car dealers, in particular the local Ferrari shop.

Re: Garage Lifts?

Des,
If you've got the vertical clearance, it would probably be better to put your baby up on a 4 post rack and let the kids toss their toys below. It may take you more time to remove and insert your car into the garage, but you'll have the peace of mind that it's not UNDER all their toys...

Eagle Equipment makes some lower cost 2 and 4 post lifts. I was thinking about a two post asymmetric, but now I'm considering a mobile mid-rise that I can move around.

Good Luck!

Re: Garage Lifts?

Des, I recently ordred a four-post lift from revolutionlifts.com, they are the residential arm of rotary lift. For the larger size lift (can do work on trucks and SUVs as well), several add on accessories (caster kit so you can move the lift around in the garage, drip pans, extended ramps for low clearance vehicles) and full delivery and installation by a recommended local installer, the tab actually came to less than $5000. This is a special promotion that's good through March 31. Call Donnie Bruther or Chris at 800-604-3359.

Have fun.

/Rich

Ronin,
Ergo-- I meant "garden tools" and other such items (kids bikes, etc) that belong IMHO outside. Nothing worse than having (other people) slide along side of the Beast while trying to carry out of the garage a cooler or a shovel or something else silly that belongs in a shed. Thank God I don't have a dent in my Beast, before installing a storage facility outside. :

Re: Garage Lifts?

just got a quote from a local co. here for a rotary lift. it is $5800.
Their adding close to a $1000 for the solid deck, which I can store my motorcycles on. I guess I'll have to shop for a little bit . I thought I could find one for less then 4k installed...

Re: Garage Lifts?

I use a 4-post lift from Autolifters of America, works great, reasonalble price, good safety interlocks etc. Great way to fit an extra car, plus much easier to work.
