Replace Front Window Regulator POV Video

Hello guys,

I changed my front passenger side window regulator couple weeks ago and took a video. I used URO Parts Premium as a replacement part... The premium is supposed to be redesigned to last longer so hopefully it lives up to the claim. I also think it has lifetime warranty? I'm not 100% but I thought it did when I bought it.

Anyways, I hope you find this video helpful!

Cheers

Mine broke yesterday. Passenger front stays open three inches. Can't tell yet if its the lift or somehow the window came loose from the mechanism. Will watch the vid tonight. I use a Dorman part on the rear door last year and it's been OK but the motor is louder than stock.

Where did you get the part from, link?

I believe I got it from AutohausAZ but I am not 100% certain. So here are two places I usually compare prices:

BMW Parts and BMW Accessories | Bavarian Autosport
Then search part number: 51 338252394PRM. The link from that page isn't going to take you directly to the part I was looking it but it's $109.95 and it says lifetime warranty to original purchaser.

http://www.autohausaz.com/pn/51338252394U
This one doesn't say lifetime warranty but it is about $15 cheaper and ships for free...

Mine is quiet... Main differences between it and OEM is that the motor will use only 4 screws out of the 5 used to hold it to the fram of the regulator. And the glass pads/receivers where the bottom of the glass sits is a little bit different than OEM. I guess it's not oriented the same way but it still works and will hold it just fine.

Let me know if you have questions that aren't answered in the video! You might need butyl tape to apple under the vapor shield but mine had another layer from a previous fix looks like and I just used a heat gun to lightly heat it and it stuck there just fine.

Oh you also might need some of those plastic pins that hold the door panel to the door frame (I forgot what they are called)... I bought a bunch on eBay but they were cheap Chinese crap. One of them broke when I put back the panel so you might want to invest in OEM ones...
