Re: Survey-how many Beasts on the Board?

Traded up from a 1997 540i to an 2001 M5. Big differences all around. The 540 was fast but the M5 is really fast.

2001 Anthracite/Black Interior/Titanium Trim
55,000 miles

-in three months I fixed a dead passenger door lock actuator, by ripping apart the door airbag
-installed brake ducts (connected to foglights) and air intake ducting (connected to sinkdrains and 3.75" duct
-BMC airfilters (no oil problems, dry on delivery)
-IATS relocation
-4 of the stock velocity stacks were seperated at the seems and I had to secure them back together

Bimmer # 4
2001 M5
1999 328
1997 540i
1985 325

Re: Survey-how many Beasts on the Board?

2000 / Anthracite / Silverstone Sport Trim interior / 16k miles.

3rd bimmer so far

2001 540i/6 black / black
2001 330CiC steel blue / grey

I had the 540i/6 for only 2 months as I took the M5 for a test drive and well, the rest is history...and so was the 540i...I had to take the beast home.

1999 / Le Mans blue / black and blue leather

I bought it 2 month ago with 61,000 km, had an e34 M5 before (for 5 years), and hope to buy an e60 in a few years...

I'm gonna install AA CAI, Hartge exhaust with X-pipe and Powerchips ECU upgrade on saturday.

Re: Survey-how many Beasts on the Board?

Hey new member here.

Just purchased(last thursday!) A blue M5 T Reg/1999 With 58k miles on it.. FBMWSH and very very tidy, love the car to bits already.. and will be doing the cannonball run in it later this year..

Now i need to know whats the first mod i should be doing? short shifter seems a good choice as the gear throw is way too long for my choice.

Cheers
DMC
