Ok here are the pics you requested.

The window tint is 85% Rear, 70% Rear Sides, 6" of 85% on Drivers Windshield. It was just done today so it will clear up as water dries and Matrix,(around edges of windows) will adhere as in a couple of days.

The Carbon color seems to have more reflectivity than the Jet black...

In California there can not be any tint on the Driver's side or passenger's side window. Actually, you can have like 15% but none of the window tinter's caryy that light a film.

I thought about it as my Tinter has his Mercedes done 35% all around however, if a police officer is looking for probable cause, he can pull you over for the front tint and then look azround for other violations.

Dark in the back is great for driving at night. When trucks pull up behind you, you can see the light partially reflecting off the rear window. Then, with the 35%(medium) on rear sides, it blends well with both front( Factory tint) and rear, (dark tint)

you mean 50%? 15% would mean only 15% of light gets in , that would make it really dark.
i use to have a little pickup in college that i had 2 layers of 5% put on the back glass. it was cool looking but impossible to see out of at night..

Looking great.

How often do you apply the Gummi Pflege? I only do mine once a year (no problems though).

i dont see why anyone wouldnt tint a car..it helps out tremendously in the summer when combined with a window blocker to keep interior temps lower and the that in turn helps to prolong the materials inside. Normally in the summer I even use a car cover, with the window blocker all while having the tint.

PA's tint laws are similar to CA's. I was pulled over in my wife's 04 Murano because the officer said he couldn't see in the drivers window. I had to remove the tint (15% tint on the front to match the back) and have the police inspect it. I have since installed 25% back on again
. I had 35% all the around on my black 528I with no problems. My M will probably get the same treatment.

My tinter calls

Limo 95%
Dark 85%
Medium 70%
light 50 %

So really light =15% - 25%

Yep Ashok--> I ddo the Gummi about 1nce a year also. I get underneath to like, rear axle boots, and body mounts.

Osodog--> I think it is called LLumar. Some films, due to the metal in the tint, make the AM radio have weak reception. I have been pretty happy with it in the past as it seems to have great optical clarity. However, if clarity bugged me, and many things due if their not up to par, I would have sensed a need to upgrade to a better film.

I agree, along with the practical uses for the tint in the summer months, it really improves the lines of the car and gives it a more streamlined stance. I have also noticed in car ads, whether it be tv, or magazine ads, all cars have the windows tinted completely black (limo tint). So my point being with all the $$$ auto manufacturers put into marketing/advertising, there must be a reason why all car ads have dark windows. Just my opinion:blabla:

Sam...looking good. I did the Llumar tint as well. Don't be surprised if you still have some non-adherance around the edges of the rear/front. Those stupid little raised dots prevent good contact with the Llumar film. It doesn't look bad though.

Subject: BMW Gummi-Pflege Rubber Care # 82 14 9 407 015

Just got in from Gummi-Pfledging my door weatherstripping. Gummi-Pfledge is a BMW rubber care product. A 2.1 ounce tube part # 82 14 9 407 015 retails for $7.50. It protects and takes care of rubber items. It prevents door weatherstrips from freezing up in winter and keeps the rubber pliable. I cleaned the strips with Spray-Nine prior to appling. Although it comes with its own applicator, using my forefinger was the way to go. Applied sparingly as recommended, one tube should last for years.
