Re: Southern California 100 octane gas stations

Great info. Thanks for posting. There are 3 other places I know of - in the San Fernando valley.

1. Alliance Gas on the corner of Woodley and Sherman Way - (this is 101 octane and the cheapest I've found so far @ $4.25/gallon).

2. Alliance Gas on the corner of De Soto and Sherman Way.

3. Unocal 76 off the 101 at the Chesebro exit in Agoura Hills.

Re: Southern California 100 octane gas stations

Aren't there unleaded racing fuels that have a certain additive that is bad for the e39 blocks/Cats/02 senors? I recall reading something about it but, just to lazy right now to look it up again.

Re: Southern California 100 octane gas stations

I have not heard that! If your find the thread let me know. When I searched "100 octane" I only found threads that said it was good for the M5.

Curiously; why would the M5 require anything over the premium grade in which it was designed for?

Higher octane fuels require more energy to burn them. In the case of VANOS & the vehicle's inherent compression ratio, I personally can't see any advantage to anything over 94.

Re: Southern California 100 octane gas stations

vics...

I'd just LOVE to be able to buy 94 here in CA!

"premium grade" isn't equal. premium is 91 here in CA, 94 in Boston (I guess) and 98 in Bahrain...

You can put 6 gal of 100 in, add 12 G of 91, and you've got a tank of 94 octane fuel...

Here's a question: at what octane will there be no improvement for a stock ECU????

There are two stations in South Orange County.
Oso-La Paz and just of the Highway at La Paz - Cabot.
