Allright this has just about driven me as crazy as it can.. Every morning as I drive off to work I have allot of steering wheel judder.. Ive noticed that when I drive off in "sport" its a little worse.. I got new tyres, aligned and balanced the wheels at a Michelin garage.. What is strange is that the steering wheel judder eventually gets better as I drive...???!!! When I go out to lunch around noon it feels normal.. Its always only after the car has sat for a long period or overnight.. Given that "sport" makes the steering "tighter" and that the judder is worst when in "sport".. Could this signal a steering Power pump issue ?? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Mine does this EXACT thing sometimes. I figured it was the cold rough engine issue as it seems to be worse in cold weather. It could also be the dead spot tire thing as well, as this would also be worse in cold weather.

didnt we talk about this a couple months ago? I'm still betting tire flat spotting. Many performance tires will do this, worse when cold etc. My previous 528 had SO3's and it did it, smoothed out in a couple of miles. My wifes old 525iTa had conti sport contacts and it did it horribly. My pilots sports do not seem to, unless the car sits for a couple of days.
What kind of tires are you running?
Mike

Yes we did have this conversation already... But I still cant find the friggin cause.. Im running Yokohama AVS SPORTS.. I seriously doubt that 1 month old tyres have flat spots but who knows... Check it out, this morning.. No vibration..None at all.. Last night as I was driving to a friend's house, I thought the tyres were gonna fall off !! And when I would hit the brakes it felt like the front tyres were "buckling"... If it was just warped rotors, I think it would vibrate all the time when braking only right ? Well not the case Maestros... Also, What are these bushings that get worn out in the front ? I commented this to a mechanic and he said there are many bushings to easily single them out..

Check the thrust arm bushings.

This is caused by flat spots when you park the car, nothing more. The thin sidewall tires coupled with the soft compund are very susceptible to this. Tire cradles will reduce this. The main reason it goes away when you drive it is the tire heats up and is reformed back to it's round position. You will notice it more in the cold weather or the longer your car is parked. The taller your sidewall or the harder compound your tires is you will not even notice it.
