Will this set up work with these installation files?

20 pin -> 16 pin adapter -> K-Line -> USB
I have the same connector.

I imagine it would be Pacman adapter to obdii to usb (laptop).

You may need to find other drivers to make it work, as i have not tested that portion yet, and as far as i know, the Pacman connector would be only needed if you are doing DIS. (someone more experienced can chime in)

The drivers are all the same, the 20 --> 16 pin is just an adapter. You need to use the engine bay port for INPA/DIS/PASoft, etc (any module coding or advanced tests). About the only thing you can do with the under dash port is tune the car, and read readiness monitors with a bluetooth or wireless adapter and iOS / Android devices.

Thanks for the info. I've been searching around for the correct setup and ran into this (E46Fanatics - View Single Post - Please help, PA Soft 1.4.0 Scanner)

Has anyone tried to jump Pins 2->17, and 2->20 to get around the 20 pin adapter?

Thanks for this! I had it installed the old way in the past but since getting a new laptop with windows 10 I havent gotten it working until now!
In your search for this package, did you stumble across an easier DIS installer as well?

No problem!

I have not searched for DIS whatsoever, as i have actually been playing around with ISTA\D-P instead.

Ill do some more research and post anything i find regarding DIS for windows 10
@enzoR

Try this https://mega.nz/#F!eM5nRD6Q!qELe6ic8bcRydhhlHP_I3A
Just download the dis 7zip file and the installation manual. if you're on windows 10 you'll need VMWorkstation 10 to get it to work.

If anyone else has any other ideas or experiences getting DIS to work with 10, i'd appreciate your chiming in.
enzoR if you're successful plz report back

thanks! i'll give it a go. With DIS you can run more tests than with INPA. For example vanos tests.

Yeah I've ran those before on DIS, but i thought Rheingold (ISTAP\ISTAD) has the same options?
