Just watched it at a pub (a $10 brekky/race thing).

That was awesome, glad I rolled out of bed!

Especially at the Nurburgring, BMW owns that track. It has featured it in it's car history in books and magazines going back to the sixties. I agree the M5 should be the pace car.

F1 used to use a BMW 6 series as a safety car. But, it has been using MB for several years now.

I was at the Canadian Grand Prix and it ROCKED!! Go BMW!!! Pit strategy worked wonders. That was my first F1 race live. TV does NOT do it justice. I was at the 1st corner where they are doing over 200mph and they slow the cars down to about 50mph to take the corner in like 300 feet. No exageration!! Your thinking their is no F-ing way they are going to be able to stop in time. Its like they hit a wall of jello. And the accelleration is like they had a giant rubber band under their car pulled all the way back and "snap". The sound is intoxicating. It is so FREEKING loud! I loved it...

Montreal is a very cool place.... GO BMW!!!

After looking at some photos in an old magazine I see F1 once used Renaults, Fiats and Peugeots as safety cars too.
