OT New Z06

The new Z06 is touted as having a 427 CI small block pushrod motor making 500 hp. The previous motor was a dohc, no?

the 2004 was also not DOHC. They were all powered by a pushrod 5.7L engine.

I believe the ZR-1 was the only DOHC 'vette ever made.

Re: OT New Z06

Some great stats on the new Z06. I have a friend who is on the list to purchase a convertable if that is truely made. 0 to 60 in 3.7secs. - this is rocketship territory. Only production cars costing the price of a California home could compete with this.. then again I am sure the Viper guys will be finding ways to tweak out a bit more HP to compete.

Re: OT New Z06

board memeber BRN64666 drove the new C6 and was impressed. He said it was very with plenty torque and managed to kill an M3 on the way back.

Is he going to track it?--Maybe go with a hardtop instead so he won't have to deal with the whole roll cage issue (?). Otherwise he may have to settle for street dragging with you

That's my New Year's Resolution for you BTW-to get you (and as many other board members as posssble, too) out on the track this year.

Inefficency because of size? If so, what it takes in size it reduces in complexity and cost. Everything is a trade off. Hey, tell the M boys to punch out the V-10 to 6 or 7 liters, no objections!!!

Jerry
