Another M5 at Discovery Auto

Well, i made an enjoyable treck to Discovery Automotive to drop off my M5 today for some fun; minor stuff compared to the other projects going on. Regardless of the project size, i've got that warm fuzzy feeling that my M5 is happy with it's visit, hanging out with the Big Boys of M Power, and i'm happy knowing that my job is going to be done right, with the attention to detail that these guys put into their work. Obviously I can't wait, but at least i have a chevy malibu rental car to tide me over (do real people actually buy these cars?)

Not to mention the fact that Mike got a sneak peak at Abdulla, Triflow & Claus's cars being completed.

I'm sworn to secrecy about what mods he's doing but I can share with you that he is in for a nice hp jump when he gets it back

Some picts of Mikes car as it arrives at D/A

Now i've been a happy american car owner, my first car was a pontiac lemans, (67, with a 400 from a 70 grand prix, crane 278 cam, hooker headers etc... not to be confused with the lemans of the 80's). I have a feeling my 05 I4 tan mailbu is likely different than yours...

Talk about being a kid in a candy store. I can't imagine there are 4 S/C'd S62's in one place anywhere else in the world. CF plenum's hanging from the ceiling, all in the middle of a very peaceful setting. I bet you can hear those cars fire up for miles, it's so quiet there.

Oh, and when i de-badged my car, i saved the lettering. I fooled around with various combinations, and have a pic of a potential D/A M5 Badge below

Re: Another M5 at Discovery Auto

Mike

actually i had a 97 Malibu LS (3100 Series V6 with intake, ported throttle body/heads/exhaust manifolds, Venom 400 series performance chip, denso plugs, NGK wires, fully replaced manifold back exhaust plus more stuff----went from 155hp to 200...then got the m5 for 400 and then supercharged it to 800...can you see a patter starting?)

Although i can say that im dissapointed that GM killed the looks of the W bodied Malibu in favor of the epsilon platform based one that its now on. I like the platform, but i hate the exterior look.

I would have given anything to start with that new 3100 series V6 thats now availible in the car as well...i almost dropped in a Grand Am GT Ram Air'd 3400 series engine and was going to add a RK Sport Supercharger to it as well...untill a certain german came around

love the badge too

Re: Another M5 at Discovery Auto

Bill, Same here, great to meet you. I'll tell you, i've been looking over that bmw car magazine repeatedly for quite a while, and seeing the workmanship in person is just amazing.
