Removing the M gearknob sticker

Anyone done this?

I needed a new, brushed titanium gear knob and the only one I found had the 5 speed //M emblem on it, so I bought the 6 speed one (available seperately so there must be a trick to getting them off)

But now I can't figure out how to take the 5 speed emblem off to put the new one on - there's no real leverage available.

Anyone done this, and has any advice? Or have any ideas anyway, as I'm out of em...

Re: Removing the M gearknob sticker

Alright, I did this by centre punching a pilot hole, then drilling through the centre of the sticker and then levering it off with a screwdriver in the hole.

However, I now have a new problem.

My current gearknob contains part of the gaiter. Can I get this seperately to put with my new 'knob?

Yes, just buy the leather boot for a 528/540 they are the same. My oe shifter had the boot attatched to the knob, when i had leatherz make an alcantara boot for my car, they used a standard e39 manual boot for the pattern. I had test fit the boot from my 528/5 speed on my m5 and it fit perfectly.
