Everytime my wife uses my car for the day while hers is being serviced, something bad invariably happens. Now, there appears to be a scratch/gash in my leather steering wheel. Not too big of a deal until I realize it's at 2:30 on the wheel, EXACTLY where my had rests, so I feel it everytime I touch the wheel. Anyway of fixing this, besides the obvious of never letting her drive my car again?
Thanks

To start with stop buying her jewlery.
No really, sorry to hear that. If the cut is just in the leather part of the stearing wheel your in luck. There are several leather/vinal repair kits available. If the cut took out any of the stiching, your best bet is going to be to find a custom seat or interior shop and have them restich.
Bummer.

I'd recommend having it done professionally. It's amazing what a good shop can do - I know from having a seat belt buckle punch its way through a door panel in another car.
I would need my significant other to be as good or better than me at stick before I would let her drive. That is how I am with anyone who drives my car, as I feel if they can do as well or better I'll let them loose if I feel so inclined (which is really really rare). That was the long winded way of me saying that my car doesnt get driven by anyone I am dating. The last girl who drove a car of mine was in my Triumph TR8, and she managed to stall it, which is almost impossible.
I would follow the advice of others; take the car to a place that specialized in leather repair and all will be well again. At least she didnt curb rash a rim.
When I bought my first BMW 6 years ago (a 1999 528 5-speed), I thought the car was the best thing in my life, sometimes over my wife and kids! I had just turned 30 and this was the first "nice" car I had owned. At the time, my wife had a Nissan Altima and we agreed, this being our first splurge, that she would be able to drive it once a week. Soon thereafter, I (well, we) bought her a Mercedes SUV and I thought that would be the end of that, but she still wanted to drive it once a week! What followed was a comedy of inspections, wondering if minor damage was done by her, etc. There was a time she actually became to paranoid to drive my car! By the time I bought my 530, I was done with that...my family was more important again! I don't know if the various small imperfections on my car were done by my wife but don't really care, and I am so glad to be done with those feelings.
Now, what I am REALLY scared about is I am picking up my M5 this month, and I fear I am already slipping back into the abyss...why should she be able to drive it?!
P.S. I love my wife!

My wife occasionally drives my car...and she gets the same s**t eating grin I do when I punch it...she's pretty good at stick, but she won't touch the Defender 90...it has a really sensitive 2nd gear.
Now that she has driven the M5 a couple of times, she is very good at wanting to let me drive the M5 when we run errands...she knows how much I love to drive it. I think besides the 140mph on the way to Arizona, the best ride was the morning after Thanksgiving this year, when we were able to hit all the stores she wanted to faster than anyone else at 6 a.m. in the morning...
You have to choose your battles...I'm out to win the war...
I let mine borrow my 530i while I went back east for business for a few months. Within the first month she fried the clutch, blew out the aftermarket subwoofer, and managed to get some curb rash on the wheels. After the clutch was fixed, she was leaving the dealer and a truck dropped a huge piece of something in front of her. (I never did find out what it actually was) On that one, she managed to do 1200 bucks worth of damage to the front end.
After getting the 530i fixed, I decided I wanted it back and I got her a 525it. (I don't learn quick. ) It has been only 18 months and the car has been "keyed" in numerous locations, the front lower skirt and undercarriage panels have been replaced several times and the rear lower bumper has a nice U-shaped puncture from backing into a pole. Before I was able to get that fixed, she got rear ended at a stoplight by an uninsured driver from Mexico. Only damage was to the rear bumper, tailgate and the front bumper from hitting the car in front. She is wondering when I am going to take it in to get the whole car fixed up again. I am hesitating because that means I will have to loan her my Imola Red 330i ZHP that does not have a dent or a ding on it. She claims that cars need to get beat-up a bit to give them character.
