Service indicator lights do not reset

so my car got the inspection 1 done and the little green lights did not reset to the normal full green bars, it is in fact still on the yello.
any idea what I can do? I alredy used the reset tool but that did not reset the lights. My mechanic tells m that the issue is with the PC oard in teh back and that only the dealer can reset that pc board....
Help!

Seems there was a recent thread about resetting the lights yourself. I don't remember if a code reader was necessary, but I don't think it was. Some people were concerned that unscrupulous owners could reset the lights just before the car is sold making it look like it had a full service. Maybe someone has the link to that thread (I am not too good at searching either!).
Regards,
Jerry

Re: Service indicator lights do not reset

the issue with the pc board was common on older cars, e28's and e30's. I haven't heard of it occuring with an e39. Which reset tool did you use? and yes there is a procedure to reset the SII without a tool, using the buttons on the bottom of the dash. I think Greg posted it.
Mike

EDIT: Hey, look down at the bottom of this page, under "Similar Threads" first one, by greg, how to reset your SII.
