"ORDER / PRODUCTION SUMMARY" ( Note : See First Post For Instructions )

This is an attempt to Summarize the M5 Experience from List-Order-Production-Delivery. Hope this will be helpful or at least interesting!

1. Post or Update your data on this "Topic", that way I won't miss additions or changes.

2. Requested Data (Totally Optional - I do understand Privacy)

USERNAME / NAME :
CITY OF RESIDENCE :
DEALER :
SALES PERSON :
DATE ON LIST :
DATE ORDERED :
PRODUCTION NUMBER :
V I N :
EXTERIOR COLOR :
INTERIOR COLOR / TRIM :
OPTIONS :
BUILD DATE :
DELIVERED TO DEALER :
DATE IN GARAGE :

3. I will maintain an Excel File that will be Posted as a "Sumary" when New Data or Changes indicate.

I urge you to consider posting your Sales Person or Dealer if they have given you good service, this is their living! It may also help direct others to a reputable dealership!

I welcome comments from anyone. If this dies a horrible death from inactivity so be it, but I'm an optimist!

Thanks to all of you who have (or will) share their experiences with us!

Well Alan, all I can say is I hope your data is wrong. You show my vehicle arriving at dealer (which is factory pickup) as May 28. If that's true, I'm screwed, as all my travel plans over there require me to pick it up on May 22nd. As far as other entries for your form, My salesman is Larry Barbro, and the only option I ordered so far, is M Audio. I don't have "numbers" yet, but I'll post when i do, and I was only one the list for 2 days, as incredible as that sounds.

regards,
aces

Alan---I'm mystified.....how do you know all this stuff???? By the way, to further update, my name is Richard.....now here comes the weird news.....I talked to the GM at BMW of Nashville, and the data on my car started coming in today, but it calls for a week 19 build. That's not what he originally heard, and it's making me a little shaky. I've changed all my travel plans, all hotels, and frequent flyer business class tickets, all of which are murder to get in mid May----. Week 19 starts on Mon, May 7. If that car isn't there by May 22, I'm in trouble. How many days after the build date does it take to complete a car?? I wonder if they can put any heat on the Euro delivery dept to help me out. If I was home, and the car was late, it might be a little annoying, but it'll ruin my Honeymoon if things don't go as planned. Where did you get the info about May 28??? I'd really like to check.

Aces

Alan,
Do you have enough data yet to predict how long after production is complete until delivery on the West Coast?

Richard,

Sorry, but I only have the data listed in the Summary post. There is only one person who has taken delivery recently on the West Coast, JamesH of San Jose. Don't have much data on him, or even where his car came into the US, might not help if we had it.

Hopefully people will fill in the holes so others can make estimates about their own situations.

INVICTO's data is very complete, but obviously the wrong coast! We even have good data from jfm from London and even a new post from Tom from Germany! Kind of neat finding out about non-US orders.

Now that I've got this going, maintaining it won't be a problem, but we need more data to make it work!

Re your order I'm guessing that you should be at 155 by the end of next week....let me know!

Regards....

Alan et al:
Is it possible to obtain status codes somewhere online or be notified by someone with BMWNA via e-mail of changes in status, or can this information only be obtained from one's dealer. Everyone on this board but me seems to know their codes...
BTW, my salesperson is Tom Butcher. I hope to fill in the rest of information SOON!
