Differences between facelift and non-facelift

Can someone tell what differences the facelifted E39 had vrs. the non facelifted. I just know (for the normal E39) both front and rear lights, front bumper, steering wheel and some engine upgrades (530i, 525i)
Were any changes made for the M5??

sounds a lot from your description... but itīs not that much at all...

minor only, eg the engine.... only the composition of the rings was changed to reduce oil consumption, nothing else mechanically, and that didnīt work anyway... oil consumption remained unchanged....

looks wise, the biggest change was the angel eyes, otherwise you are nit-picking.

not nit picking anything, those are the differences. And those differences make a pretty large diff.

Also, the background color of the instrument cluster's dials was changed from black to gray. The steering wheel was changed to a different design with the thicker rim.

All in all, the facelift was pretty minor in my opinion.

Cheers.

Re: Differences between facelift and non-facelift

The navigation screen size was increased to 16:9, and the shifter boot and E-brake handle were replaced with a leather handle instead of aluminum.

Re: Differences between facelift and non-facelift

ontop of what's been said above..

MY2000+ cars have the oval mirror, tire defect sensor/monitoring option.
Shadowline became the norm and chromline was removed.
Rear PDC became std on 2001+ cars

Re: Differences between facelift and non-facelift

I have a facelift model and I looked at a few cars ....

You can easily spot the angel eyes and the neater and chunkier steering wheel, I didn't know the bumpers were changed, has anyone got piccies to see the comparison. I had never noticed !!!

Tks

The things you find out on this board!

On my 2003, I still had to choose (and pay for) PDC, I thought. Was I just paying for FRONT PDC?
