          What happened to my MPG after I replaced the Lambda Sensors

          Before: 14.3 mpg average

          After: 16.7 mpg average

          Looks like you're running leaner. Be careful, if too lean, you could damage the engine although I don't see how new sensors would make it run TOO lean.

          It´s a sensor that goes into the exhaust system and measures the quantity of oxygen in the exhaust gas if I´m not mistaken.

          It's also known more commonly as the O2 sensor and is the primary sensor involved in the feedback loop for the DME to control fuel/air mixture. The M5 has 4 sensors; 2 pre-cat and two post cat.

          The economy dipped after the Millteks were installed but I think this was due to faulty sensors and not the exhausts. Whether the sensors failed due to the new exhausts is another issue. With new sensors my fuel efficiency is better than ever.
