PLASTIC FLOOR MAT COVERS

Anyone know where to find transparent plastic floor mat covers? I have a caramel interior, and I just cannot keep my floor mats clean, especially the driver's side. Any suggestions?

Re: PLASTIC FLOOR MAT COVERS

I got mine from exactmats.com. I'm using a full set for the interior plus one for the trunk lining (which I use a lot with kid stuff). After six months the are doing a good job. I have noticed however that the passenger side does want to bunch up a little. But it is great to not have to wince when you see dirty shoes coming in.

Re: PLASTIC FLOOR MAT COVERS

I just bought a second set of mats and use carpet cleaner on the ones that are not in the car. Never have to change the rears. Mostly I have to clean the drivers side only.

I bought a set from Bavarian Auto. They're rather thick (~3/32") which is good, but they yellowed within a year on the driver's side where my heels contact the map. For that reason, I cannot recommend those particular mats.

I got a set of OEM mats that are anthracite. I have the caramel interior as well. The anthracite mats go well with the black upper dash sections. The caramel colored mats were old and dirty. I will find some pics for ya.

Re: PLASTIC FLOOR MAT COVERS

I've had the same black BMW rubber floor mats for the front and back seats that I got when my M5 was new and and appreciate the way they've worn and protected the carpeting. I got them from the BMW accessories catalog. They fit like a glove, unlike the Weathertech ones that were originally, mistakenly ordered for my car. I even used the mats once this summer as makeshift bases for a little league practice. So there you have my product recommendation and testimonial

Re: PLASTIC FLOOR MAT COVERS

You may want to check to see what Ferrari owners do. Almost all Ferraris have a tan interior (very similar to BMW's caramel).

Cheers.

Re: PLASTIC FLOOR MAT COVERS

Good point. I am having to get a set of the "rough weather" or ruberized ones BMW sells. I figure Winter is only a few months off up here in newport and the Snow/slush plays havoc with the stock mats.
