fog light lense - anyone know where to get them?

My used 02 M5 has road pitted fog light lense. Would like to just replace lense vs buying two fog lights at $95.00 each. Call me cheap if you want. JV

Re: fog light lense - anyone know where to get them?

I recently had a broken lens and had to replace the whole assembly since it's a sealed unit. The problems you might have if the unit leaked might pale in comparison to $95-- I would just suck it up if it bugs you that much.

Re: fog light lense - anyone know where to get them?

That's true. You just replace the whole assembly. It's a 10 minute job. You don't have to buy the lights in pairs, you can just buy the one that's broken. Shop around for the light. Look in a Roundel magazine for some BMW dealer advertisements and give them a call for prices. Also, check Ebay.

Mine cracked as well...if I would replace..I'd replace both, cause they would look differently, one new, one no... I think when you turn the Fog lights...you would noctice a difference...one would be brighter...

Re: fog light lense - anyone know where to get them?

I think one way these crack is by running them when it rains. They get hot, and then you hit a puddle of cold water and CRACK! I know this sounds goofy and defeating their purpose, but I almost never run them when it rains, and so far the only one that's cracked was due to it getting hit by a rock or some road debris. Also, I figure it's just a maintenance cost to replace them now and then. It's an easy 10 min. job.

"Is it the sounds that make a BMW a BMW? A BMW is designed to be heard, felt, experienced. So our engines sing. Our steering talks back. And we insist on offering manual transmissions in nearly all our models for drivers who crave them. The result is an almost telepathic oneness with the car. Just as surely as you can hear a BMW, a BMW hears you."

Re: fog light lense - anyone know where to get them?

I had a cracked lens on my MY 2000 and replaced the pair with MY 2001 fog lights. The MY 2000 have fluted glass and the later ones do not. If anyone wants a pair of MY 2000 fogs (passenger side lens is cracked), these are available for free, just cover the shipping.

Re: fog light lense - anyone know where to get them?

I haven't priced them recently, however, When I put an M5 front end on my older E39 non M5.... I purchased the foglights and support brackets etc. I am pretty sure the Lense itself only cost about 65 dollars. Of course, this was with the CCA discount.
