Mr.Clean Auto Dry carwash system: Fact or fiction?

Has anyone tried the Mr. Clean Autodry Carwash system on their Beast yet?
I saw the kit in Sam's Club today for $21.00. I almost bought it after reading the verbiage on the box, but it sounded too good to be true, so I passed on the purchase.
Any feedback or thoughts would be appreciated.

It's been posted previously. It works well...surprisingly. It does what it says.

Re: Mr.Clean Auto Dry carwash system: Fact or fiction?

I used it on my car and my brothers. It didnt work as we had expected. My friend tried it himself and didnt get good results either. Just try it. It could work out for you. Good luck.

Re: Mr.Clean Auto Dry carwash system: Fact or fiction?

i bought it and i tried on the viper and the 4.6is. the viper is graphite gray and the 4.6is is black.

it works flawlessly. the only gotcha is that you have to replace the water filter every 10 car washes (the starter one in the kit - after 2-3 washes).

oh, and you can use your own liquid auto soap.

over, i will give it 10/10

Re: Mr.Clean Auto Dry carwash system: Fact or fiction?

It works as advertized. I am very happy with the system. Couple of observations:

1. The results depend partially upon the "hardness" of your water source, and also upon the thoroughness of your final rinse.

2. Best results are obtained with the Mr. Clean Autodry Shampoo, which does strip your wax. You can use other shampoos, but the spot-free autodry action will be mitigated.

3. The most important benefit of using the system, in my estimation, is the simple fact that washbuckets are completely eliminated, thereby avoiding the potential introduction of swirls from contaminated bucket water. You never use staid water to rinse your wash mitt or to dispense additional soap. This alone is worth using the system.

In the end I adopted the use of this system not to save time, nor to obtain a perfectly spot-free wash, but to minimize the unavoidable introduction of swirls during the washing/drying process.

Re: Mr.Clean Auto Dry carwash system: Fact or fiction?

In talking with many people on this topic, success seems to depend on where you live.

Btw- I was also disappointed with the relative drop in water pressure from their hose attachment. I had hoped I could use this to wash the X5 but it was not the case. However, the car did towel dry faster with this system than the old fashioned way.

Re: Mr.Clean Auto Dry carwash system: Fact or fiction?

The drop in pressure occurs because of the rinse filter.

Re: Mr.Clean Auto Dry carwash system: Fact or fiction?

I bought one and use it routinely on my wifes Landcruiser, I've had pretty decent results, but it is a silver-ish color, not too demanding. I use the mr clean soap, which as schnell said, does seem to remove wax, i then go over the car with my 'griots garage boars hair brush', rinse and do the filtered rinse. I'm not sure if you are supposedly not required to aggitate, but i tried that once and it didn't do much to clean the car. I still do use a rinse bucket, to dip and rinse the brush every couple of pannels. WIth a good filter i get a relatively spot free dry. I get a couple of trails around the back windows where water drains for a while. Overall, it's acceptable, for the landcruiser, which is basically an appliance (imho...).

I enjoy washing the M5, so i haven't used it on that...
