Angry Park Distance Control

Hi, I wanted to know if there is anyway I can activate the front PDC on the car, just like the rear. I park in my garage, and its not a very big garage, barely fits my car, but once I came too close from the front, so want to make sure I do not do this again. Any ideas ?
Thanks D5

I think maybe I'm misunderstanding your question, you just press the PDC button when you're in 1st and on she comes. Sorry if that's not what you mean

Re: Park Distance Control

I think he meant to have it turn on automatically. I think they should make it the same as on other cars where it's on at low speeds but for now, all you can do is hit that pdc button.

Re: Park Distance Control

It is a bit odd it doesn't come on automatically. You could attach some sort of stick arrangement to the gearstick so it presses the button whenever you put it in first

Maybe a little plastic hand with a finger sticking out fixed onto the shift knob and a two finger hand for the sport and dsc solute

Dallas, what year is your car? I MIGHT have an explanation -- you may only have PDC in the rear.

Prior to my 2002 M5, I had a 2000 540i/6. My 540i had PDC, but it was rear-only. It activated when the car was in reverse, but there was no switch on the console.

Does your car have ultrasonic sensors in the front bumper? They would be two circles within the rub strip. If not, you don't have PDC in the front.

That said, I've seen many techniques for your situation -- a few of the enthusiast catalogs sell a contraption that you put on the floor and that marks where you should stop. The really cheap way is to get the car exactly where you want it, hang a tennis ball on a string so it just touches the windshield, and -- poof -- you have a sophisticated parking location control system!

Re: Park Distance Control

Hi.
Looking at your car pics - there seems to be no pdc monitors in the front.
I like the MBrown1003 idea.
Cheers.
