Anyone try the UUC/Rogue Tranny Mounts?

Has anyone tried/using the UUC or Rogue Tranny Mounts? Which is better? easier to install?

-any real advantages over stock?

Also, has anyone used the weighted selector rod? or is anyone waiting for the UUC Selector Rod? This looks like a good upgrade, especially in combo with my UUC SSK.

Any input please. The car has now 50K miles on it and it feels like the shifting is not as precise as before. Just trying to stir up ideas.

Thanks everyone,

Jonathan

Re: Anyone try the UUC/Rogue Tranny Mounts?

I have the Rogue mounts. I think they are perfectly adequate and do not transmit any vibration into the cabin. I have the UUC shifter (EVO2) with Rogue WSR. I like the combination but if I were to do it again today, I'd go with the UUC selector rod instead (and EVO 3 shifter).

"Is it the sounds that make a BMW a BMW? A BMW is designed to be heard, felt, experienced. So our engines sing. Our steering talks back. And we insist on offering manual transmissions in nearly all our models for drivers who crave them. The result is an almost telepathic oneness with the car. Just as surely as you can hear a BMW, a BMW hears you."

Re: Anyone try the UUC/Rogue Tranny Mounts?

I have the rogues on the m5 and the UUC's (black) with cups on the m3.

I think that the stiffer bushings do help a bit...not bad for about 100 bucks

Re: Anyone try the UUC/Rogue Tranny Mounts?

I have the Rogue Tranny mounts. Combined with a SSK, they made a big difference in shift "feel". They may transmit a bit more vibration to this shifter, but not much...

I think board member Mottati has the Rogue mounts with the "stiffening" caps, but is thinking about removing the caps...

Re: Anyone try the UUC/Rogue Tranny Mounts?

Yeah, I have the UUC mounts, I got the red ones with the "enforcer" caps, which are aluminum caps that go over the mounts and increase their stiffness. These do transmit some more driveline noise and exhaust resonance into the cabin. MOST of the time, i don't mind this, i'm usually alone in the car and in enjoy the additional sound. Occasionally it does bug me. I've been thinking about removing the caps, just to see what happens to the noise. I do feel the shift quality is better with this mod. I initially did it when, after several track weekends, my shifter started feeling more sloppy than usual. The mounts did tighten things up, so they do seem to work as advertised. The Al caps may be overkill though, for a mostly street car at least...

Re: Anyone try the UUC/Rogue Tranny Mounts?

for the street use mounts give only marginal improvement but I don't regret installing them as I do feel the tighter more precise shifts especialy when cornering.
I have Rogue and there is barely noticable vibration on my shifter after I installed them but nothing major

Re: Anyone try the UUC/Rogue Tranny Mounts?

I also have the Rogue mounts and also changed to Royal Purple fluid when I had a RMS short shifter installed. It made a great difference in ease of shifting, especially 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd when cold.
