Help Where to find new Ring bulbs?

I've managed to replace my fog lights, highbeams and signal lights now the only bulbs left to change are the rings for the Angel Eyes.

Does anyone sell diffent bulbs for the rings? I want a more white or a more blue look.

Please keep us posted if you do see a blue look ring bulb. I'd love to have it for my silverstone

Re: Help Where to find new Ring bulbs?

I would rather have a brighter white color than something that matches the headlights. I like the contrast.

The light source for the angel eyes is not a standard bulb. Remove it and you'll see what I am speaking of. Do a search and you should be able to see examples as well.

Re: Help Where to find new Ring bulbs?

Here's a thread I've been monitoring that covers this exact issue : http://www.bmw-forums.com/forum/topic12545.html

The short version is Umnitza.com is working on something that should turn out to be a bulb replacement.

I looked at the link and these guys do not know what they are talking in about in general as it pertains to the bayonette blub for the E39. It is a simle bulb that is 10 watts. There is one on each side of the car and light is transmitted to the rings via a type of fiber optic cable.

I have a small issue with one ring being not quite as bright as the others, but it may be an issue of light focus, as opposed to bulb brightness. That being said, I too would like a 15 watt bulb to enhance the rings somewhat.

Re: Help Where to find new Ring bulbs?

MAH is right. The bayonette is commonly found on boats, so a quick search in a marina parts department should result in finding a 20 watt bulb. I know someone who did it and has been running it for a while. To replace the bulb you need to remove the plastic welds that holds bulb holder in place.

So info on the CELIS light source : http://bmwdiy.info/celis-source/index.html
