Blue Calipers...

Painted my calipers last night. Blue! Might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I like it. Why blue? 1) Keeps with the theme of the interior 2) Compliments the BMW roundels 3) Subttle, unlike red.
I would have preferred a darker blue but they don't have that in the rotor paint. But I think it's all right. It'll hold me over until I can afford some blue Stoptechs

Re: Blue rotors...

It looks good, I may have it done in my Le Mans Blue. Who did it for you?

Re: Blue rotors...

Re: Blue Calipers...

Huh? The rotors were blue....hummm....guess it wore off during braking
Typo...sorry.

I did it myslef with Platikote blue caliper paint. I sprayed brake cleaner on the calipers, used a wire mesh brush to get off any surface rust etc, sprayed on more brake cleaner, masked off and painted two coats. Dries pretty fast too. Came out ok. I did my old car's calipers red with the same type of paint and it's been almost two years and they still look good.

Re: Blue rotors...

Yeah, the paint seems to fade fairly rapidly on the rotors....

Coloured calipers can and do look very race, BUT they need to be bigger ! otherwise it heighlights the non race calipers fitted to the stock M5 !

Re: Blue Calipers...

All true, but again, it's temporary. They're still larger than the avg. caliper, just not proportional to the rotor.
My neighbor asked me how many satellite channels I was getting on the front rotors
