Sorry - one more Service question

Hi - another quick question for you guys... My service interval indicator still has many green bars (was just BMW serviced approx 2k miles ago by PO according to BMW service records). However, it does not say "Oil Service" or "Inspection I/II" on start up, like it says it should in the manual. Nothing is shown besides the green bars.

Is is normal to have the service interval indicator NOT indicate a specific kind of service? Should it be saying "Oil" or "Inspection" service?

          Thanks again for the advice.

          Gavin

if it still has green bars it's not due for anything.

          Hi Gavin,

I find that it can never hurt to have the oil changed at least every 6,000 miles, even if there are still green lights. An oil change is inexpensive, and excellent preventative maintenance. Also be sure to check the oil level frequently (at least every 500 miles).

          Cheers.
