Post DINAN SUPERCHARGER FOR M5

Does anyone know if or when the may be a supercharger package for the M5 from Dinan?
I believe chip tuning for supercharging and chassis tuning is their strength, not this cold air intake garbage.

Steve Dinan was in Houston last weekend at the Momentum Performance Center and he indicated the supercharger is at least a year away.

There are alot of other things in front of the supercharger on the priority list... like...

1) Headers
2) new cams
3) new intake plenum

I'll be the first to bring the car there when it becomes available.

I also consider finding the twin turbo kit for it, which makes more sense.

should try BBR-GTi in the UK. They made a twin turbo 540, pumping out 800hp and 750lbs ft!

If anyone knows - how do they get a good amount of boost going when the stock engine is already running 11-1 compression?

I mean on a hot day with 93 octane and full throttle, 11-1 compression is pushing the limit for detonation problems. Are they shimming the heads to lower the compression, and then adding the boost? Seems you would loose lots of low end torque to get more upper???

I'm sure we'll know more when it comes out, but it just seems like a big task to tackle on a high compression engine running pump gas.

Exclamation

Race Marque systems will be coming out with a superchanrger in the Fall. I spoke with them and they are hoping to start on the project in the summer/sept period to be ready after 10 weeks. It would be developing no less than 550 hp with an optional stage II after-cooler of another 50hp!
This kit will kick Dinan's supercharger's ***. I believe they are a rival company. Check their website out www.racemarque.com

they are either going to require heads porting to lower the compression, or they will cap the kit at 5-6 pounds of boost. that and running a good intercooler to lower intake temps. and race gas. maybe.

the m5 engine is very blower-un-friendly and stock they either will have to make internal mods or will end up with one expensive mess of pistons, valves and vanos pieces. i think the crank and connecting rods are good though for some double digit boost. i guess we will see
