Angry Magnetic Tires

NEWSFLASH!!!!:

Michelin Tire company uses magentic rubber to fabricate tires

Well, O.K...probably not, but is sure as heck seems like it...

I replaced my Dunnies last month with a set of Mich. PS2's. Two weeks after the install, I get a nail smack dab in the middle of the left rear. Two weeks after that, I get another nail in the center of the tread on the right rear...

of all the luck

Re: Magnetic Tires

Hope you're not a betting man :p

I had a spell of 3 punctured tires within 1 month last year, all with cuts too wide to be fixed. Given that I've never ever had a puncture before, I guess that's the way the sky got even with me

Re: Magnetic Tires

If it makes you feel better, I trashed three tires in three months once upon a time... little did I know that only the outter edges of my tires were magnetic.... it is better to have the middle of the tread magnetic!

Re: Magnetic Tires

I found the SO3's I had also seemed to attract nails and screws. I'm getting ready to get a set of PS2's. Just wondering what pressures you're running. I was using 40 all four with the Dinan suspension and SO3's and 42 Front 40 rear without Dinan suspension.

Re: Magnetic Tires

Hey Jeff,

Maybe it's just our area or something, since I was spending about half my time up in Napa. I only owned my Beast for about 9 months before the accident, but I picked up three different nails or screws in that time. Horrible.

Buzz
still shopping to replace the irreplaceable...

Re: Magnetic Tires

X-ray,
I run 42 on the fronts and 43-44 on the rears. Once I get the Dinan rear sway, I think it would be correct to drop the rears a couple of points...

Buzz,
Good to see you're still around Any thoughts on a new beast yet?

As far as tires...
Actually, the neighbor has been doing some major remodeling over the last 6 months. I have never had a problem with nails before, but since they have been doing construction, I've had two on the M5, and one on the Honda.

These guys are really sloppy. They have a pile of debris up against the fence just next to our driveway. They throw stuff onto the pile, and some of it comes over...the pile is now about a foot above the fence...I find all kinds of stuff. Nail gun nails (3" long), roofing nails, utility knife blades, used drywall nails with a bit of paper still left under the heads...you name it.

It's starting to get pretty old, and the contractor hasn't returned my calls so far
