Bluetooth Problems

I continue to be unimpressed with Bluetooth, which was recently installed by my dealer. I use Cingular with the Motorola V600. Even at max gain, it is often hard to hear people speaking to me. I was hoping you could boost the volume just by turning up the soundsystem, but you can't.

Further, I get a lot of crackling in the system with incoming calls, and I continue to sound like I am speaking in a can.

Anyone out there with any suggestions--is it my phone, Cingular, or just crappy Bluetooth hardware? Not worth a $1000 yet.

Re: Bluetooth Problems

Mark, you might try getting in touch with Jonathan Spira. He was the original BT in an E39 in the US, and has written a couple of articles on BT that were in Roundel. He often posts on the roadfly boards, here's his email address:
jbsbmw@basex.com He seems to be the E39 BT authority.
