RALPH SCHOMP BMW, A SERIOUS CLASS ACT

In my post "Not sure what to make of this" I explained as best I could the problems I had with my M5.

I got off the phone with my service rep a few minutes ago, and here is what the resolution to that issue was.

After many hours of isolating the problem with my car the final report is that I need a cam sensor, and some sort of hydraulic adjustment mechanism for bank 1, and a few other minor things. That adjustment mechanism is a seriously big ticket item, but they were able to completely diagnose all my problems, with regards to the drastic loss of power under acceleration.

Now for the best part. My service rep talked with the service manager about this and they offered me a 75/25 split. In other words, I pay 25% of all parts and labor, and BMW picks up the other 75%. I did NOT have to complain, beg or otherwise try to elicit this offer from them, she just came right out with this offer up front as soon as she explained all the issues. Even better, the parts will be adjusted to reflect the warranty price not the retail price, lowering the cost to me even more.

Needless to say, I am more than satisfied with the outcome to this potentially very costly issue. I want to publically express my gratitude to the group in Ralph Schomp's service department for the fair treatment. NO hassles, no fighting, nothing. I didn't expect this to go so smoothly and am truly taken aback by it all. I'm not at all used to this kind of treatment from a dealer, and it will not be forgotten.

Pete,

Sounds like Scotty (I assume it was her) took great care of you. Glad it worked out and Schomp [probably] won a loyal service client.

Hi Mike,

Yup it was Scotty, and they do have a loyal service customer from now on. She really went that extra step for me. I even have her asking the service manager if they would be willing to install aftermarket mods , LOL , worth a shot.
