DINAN, Gruppe or Active Autowerke CAI?

I need as many opinions to which CAI gives the most bang for the buck.

I do not plan to track my 03 Beast, if that makes any difference in your comments.

I'm leaning towards the Dinan only for esthetic reasons, but common sense ($$$) must prevail.

All comments are extremely welcome and appreciated.

          Regards,

          Howler

Re: DINAN, Gruppe or Active Autowerke CAI?

I do agree that dinan's cai looks really nice.... but man, $2k, for 5hp, i just can't talk myself into that. AA has some pretty insane hp claims for their cai, somthing in the 20's if i remember correctly, for under $1k. Gruppe M looks and sounds real nice, but from what i've read, there is no real "cold" to their cold air intake, you end up getting some hot underhood air, and some have reported throttle response seems worse. I guess best bang for the buck is to do nothing! Of course that's never an option when you have mod fever... I'd lean toward the AA system, i like the fact that it uses the stock airboxes, and you could kee the paper filters. Add an IATS relocation and you'd have a nice system for half the dinan cost. Or do it yourself, get some ducting from and connect it up to your airboxes, either from the grill or foglight area. Total cost under $50. (plus the IATS kit)
          get ducting here: http://www.racerpartswholesale.com/

I was in the same position as you - see my post below.

IATS Relocation and new (simple Mod) HD CAI

I think the CAI's are very expensive for what you get. I added the IATS and did my own CAI.
