Navtech CD needed - where to purchase?

All,

I have recently relocated to the Houston area and am in need of a new Navtech CD.

Should I;

1. Purchase from a local BMW dealer?
2. Purchase directly from Navtech for $129?
3. Purchase from www.wduffy@mcihispeed.com for $40 as advertised in the June Rondel magazine on page 141 in the classified section?

Does anyone have any experience dealing with option #3?

Thanks,

Mark

Re: Navtech CD needed - where to purchase?

I have had good luck finding updated CDs/DVDs on eBay. I just checked but there was only a MAP #6 and a DVD version available

Re: Navtech CD needed - where to purchase?

You can get the whole North America set, new, for $199 from Navteq(formerly Navtech). I think this is a reasonable price to pay. This modest payment will help them keep the maps current and accurate. When they wanted > $800 for the set, I though they must be kidding. I like the new lower prices, and I will support them

Re: Navtech CD needed - where to purchase?

I know there have been problems with people buying the whole set and then selling them individually on Ebay to make a profit. I did just buy a Mid-Atlantic 2003 CD for $69.00 from a guy I found who has the whole set and is looking to sell them without being too public about it. (Man that sounds sketchy!) If you're interested send me an email and I'll give you his info. I sent the guy a check for mine and he kept in touch with me throughout and delivered the disk exactly as promised. Really nice guy and I would recommend him to others.
