Post California License Plate

I picked up the car 6 weeks ago but I'm still waiting for my plates. Is that time normal?

Yes, I waited at least that long for my "save the whales" environmental plates to come. (I wanted the blue color to match my Le Mans Blue!) I'll bet Sacramento didn't wait that long to cash your check!

Robert.

I have Le Mans blue as well. Does your color plate look good?

I think so since it blends with the car color. Although I have "smudged" the plate there is a picture of my car listed under "robert47's album" in the Owner's Galery section but you have to go back a ways!
Rob, were you at the M5 gathering at Sears Point prior to going on to napa and points north?

Robert.

Very, very nice.

My car looks the same as yours but it has the all leather luxury caramel interior. I think it looks good. I'd post some photos but I had my digital camera stolen last week!!

I didn't go to the last Sears Point gathering but I'm thinking about going to the next one. Your pictures were great.

It's gotta be a DMV thing, and getting the whale tail Save the Coast plates must also delay it, as that's what I got, too. I picked up my M5 in mid January, and my plates finally arrived, get this.... yesterday! They do look good with Titanium Silver though, and I'd bet they'd be even better on Carbon Black or LeMans Blue.

Don't you want to pick the plate color that is hardest to read? This way it will be harder for people to identify you as you blow past them. (Oops, did I say that!?)

And instead of a memorable plate like

BOWDOWN
DUI4EVR

get one like

QO0121L

(that is very hard to remember).

I knew it was going to take around 6-8 weeks so I ordered it before I got the car. Now that I just got the car tonight, I believe the plate should be here in a week or so.

I was going to choose the Whale Tail since it has blue background but it costs $90 to get and $60 to renew yearly. I knew I should have gotten it anyway but it's too late now. I bet it looks good too on my LeMans Blue.

Oh well.....I'll try to find out if I could upgrade it when I pick up the plates.

Mattar,
Are you going to M5 Extravaganza? That would be the best opportunity for us to take pictures of our cars side by side. Both LeMans Blue, except your license plate says "E39 M5" and mine "M5 E39"
