Angry I wanted to spit on this 'M5'

Ok I know this has been discussed a gazzilion times....but lets make it a gazzilion and one!
Today I was minding my own business sitting at home and I got a frantic phone call from a friend saying that he found a parked new M5. Now I should say that here in Halifax I have only ever seen one M5 and it was at the dealership. So hearing about a parked M5 got my friend and me really excited and I decided to bolt it over there. We broke almost every traffic law to get to this car before it left. And we arrived and saw the 'beast'. It was nice all right, she shiny black paint, the shimmering M5 badge, the 2 exhaust pipes... wait a minute - there should be 4!!!!! Well to my disbelief I was looking at a fake M5... it was actually a 540. It had the M5 styling kit and everything - but it was no M5!
Now I should say that my friend who called me is a nice guy and is trying to learn about cars...he knows I am obsessed with the M5 and he cant be blamed for not knowing the difference. But my friend (M-machine) and I knew the difference.
But just then a tall guy in glasses came out of a store and started strutting towards us. From his point of view it probably looked like we were admiring his machine haha So as he came close my friend say, "excuse me sir - but is this a M5?" and he smiled and said, "it sure is! This puppys' got 400hp under the hood". We tried to stay composed and I said, "so where are the other 2 exhaust pipes?" and he responded with, "it only needs 2... I think it looks better that way."
So with that we just rolled our eyes and walked away.
Boy that just makes me mad!
Well too bad we wrecked his fun……

Ahahah "it only needs 2" Ahahah oh my gosh such BS you shoulda said it only needs 282hp too... but its an M5, YA!! I agree I wished u rolled back around and said "ya looks just like mine" and rev the engine to about 5500 rpm, let him hear that and then peel your way out leaving 10 feet of tire marks on the pavement. I didnt say drop the clutch at 5500 rpm dont get me wrong here heheh "It only needs TWO!!" ROTFLMAO

Angry? Nah. Just comical. After all, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Maybe it was an M5 with 2 exhausts. Who knows maybe that makes it even faster Good thing no child, woman, man or beast were harmed in this little incident

You shouldn't be angry---you should feel bad for him. This poor dude wants an M5 so badly that he takes to making his 540 (or 528?) into an ersatz M5. I'm sorry that the M5 is not cheaper so more people can afford it!

Imagine his heartbreak every time he sees a real M5... ah, the poor bastard.
