Post whats an M6?

i saw one in Long Beach when i was at school? what does it have under the hood etc.....

The M6 has the BMW 3.5 liter six cylinder with 256 horsepower in US trim and 286 horsepower in Euro trim. The 0-60 time is about 6.7 for this car and top speed is near 150. This is the same engine that was in the legendary M1 street car and the 650 horsepower M1 Procars. It was also used in the 1988 E28 M5 (the 256 hp engine).

As far as I know, there is essentially no diference. The car was first badged as an M635CSi, then M6, and at some point in time it was badged as just ///M. Some hard core fans call it an M635 but most prefer to call it an M6

The pic you posted below is of the finest example I have seen of an M6. That car was owned by a lady here in the south bay and won best in show at the Silicon Valley Concours several years ago. I believe the car had well under 10K miles on it at the time. It was truly flawless.

Regarding different versions, the M635csi was the original european version of the car introduced before the actual M6 as we know it here in the US. Awesome cars in their time.
