It's done and you can buy them at http://www.bmw-accept.com. I just spoke to the developer and he's starting to ship units on Monday. That's just in time, because I mentioned the product in an article I co-wrote for the June issue of Roundel Magazine. My copy arrived yesterday. Article starts on page 77. The section I wrote begins on page 80 and is titled "NAV and NAV-TV".

Re: No accept screen device question

What's interesting and with the benefit of hindsight annoying is that the original software that controlled my MY2000 M5 NAV system didn't require the "Accept" action. Only after I upgraded the software during one of my services, did the disclaimer screen require an active "Accept." It's annoying but, at 200 bucks for a fix, I'll continue to push the button. Maybe I can downgrade the version of the software. I don't perceive any particular advantages to the upgrade.

There has always been an ACCEPT screen on US models. The difference was that, before you upgraded your software, the ACCEPT screen appeared when you attempted to use the navigation function. After the upgrade, it appeared when the car was started.

Dave,

Thanks for clarifying. It's been awhile, so I couldn't recall the details. Probably because I use the NAV feature infrequently , it didn't seem so intrusive.
