Post OT - Seen rebates on 7 series? WOW!

Anyone know what the current factory to dealer rebate is on 2001 7 series? It must be $10k becuase they are selling loaded 740i's for $52k!

Thats cheaper than buying a new 540i at most dealers. I know it's about to be replaced, but if someone wanted a "bug free" example of the last year model, seems like a good deal to me.

Question is, think the rebates will get any bigger as summer gets closer? I only ask you guys here, cause nobody answered on the 7 board. (Guess they all already bought and are upset at the drop in price.)

Chances are, rebates, won't get bigger, but you might get dealer discounts on top of the rebate as time passes. The problem will be that color and options selection will tail off as production winds down.

Tim, I'm sure it's factory money being thrown at the 740i deal, so any dealer "should" be able to sell for the same price. I was just looking at newspaper ads here in South Florida.

They are advertising at $52,900, so I'm sure a good deal can be had for a little less. Remember you get $1500 off for being a CCA member for more than a year too!

So if your a good shopper, the new 2001 740i might be had for $49,xxx. Suddenly makes you think differently about a large heavy car doesn't it?

Wow, that is so tempting...

Ah well, already have one toy (M5), can't have another

Now if it came with AWD, I'd be at the dealer right NOW!
