My beast arrived at 4:45 this morning.
I had ordered it from David Myers at Hallmark in Jackson Mississippi in February when none of the Houston dealers could give me any encouragement that I would see the car within a year. The last few weeks have been interminable and the final hours impossible.
Now it’s here and I have to pinch myself each time I look at it.
I had to work this morning but picked my brother up at the airport this afternoon (visiting from England). I managed to put 60 miles on the car for a 20 mile trip to the airport – just having blast (keeping below 4,000 RPM).
She feels great but being as gentle on the loud pedal as I am, it’s hard to tell quite what the potential is. She rides great, takes curves like she’s on rails and has great anchors. It’ll be tough waiting to see what she can really do but I’m going resist the temptation and do the break in right.
The weather forecast isn’t great for the weekend but I’ll try to take some pics.

Congrats Steve.I'm happy for you.
How is your feeling now??We all understand this feeling.It's funny but i never got that feeling with my other BMW,only with the Beast,there is somthig magic in teh beast.
Enjoy your Beast and drive the first 1200 mls slow and respect the target in the front window.It's good to by engine Oil because the beast consume a lot.it's normal don't worry.

Steve,
hang in there- my guess is youre seeing anywhere between 45-65% of the full potential of the car- once you go through the break in, gently bring the rpms up and by around 8000 miles youll discover just how creamy and quick this engine is. This is one fantstic car- enjoy!

Congrats again! Did you take pics as the Beast was being unloaded? The car is truly spectacular isn't it? Looking forward to your driving impressions. I'm being good with my break-in also...have only hit 5 K rpm a couple of times so far...it's real easy to do, but the ground starts going by in VERY large chunks!
