MUST READ Articles for the True Enthusiast

I have been considering a way to create a library of sorts for the enthusiast, old and new because as varing issues come up new threads are created and before long ones ability to locate the data to reference upon quickly become difficult at best.

For this reason I have a list of suggested reading. The following threads are located withing this forum as well as the associated sponsors forum.

1. Osh Minelian Re: RMS BlackMt5 Thread

2. European Car does a 2 page article on RMS

3. RMS.....so as not to get lost in the previous thread

4. RMS...No More

5. Osh - RMS owner and conman

6. Adullas missing parts

7. Stay away from RMS

8. Attention RMS Victims

9. RMS and addressing the risk

10.Osh admits to selling my Super Charger

11. My Experience with RMS

In no particular order but I would encourage all to allocate the time to read the story. Look upon each thread as another chapter in the book. This way it may seem a bit less overwelming. If I missed any I will add them as they are brought to my attention.

Once you have completely read all the threads and posts I suggest that you take sometime to refelct on what you have read and maybe even compare notes with your own experiences then I ask you to consider doing the following;

If like most, you continue to feel numb and bothered to the point that it is difficult to put into words truly how you feel everytime you think back on what you read. If you have experienced something similar and or know somebody that has then materially participate as the means to help others with the existing problems. But even more important help yourself by taking a stand against all such present and future activities.

Call Osh/RMS @ (818) 778-6107 and demand that he immediately release all the parts and or cars, and all $$ that he has received but do not belong to him. Make it clear to Osh/RMS that you and your friends simply will not tollerate such activities.

On behalf of folks such as Abdulla, TriFlow, DHarland, just to mention a few I thank you.

Re: MUST READ Articles for the True Enthusiast

I have followed most of those threads from the start, and I must say I agree they are all must reads on a few accounts. First off, before you decide to mod a car, it is best to know everything about the company you are giving your car to. It's terrible to find out later like Rob, Abdulla and many others. My heart really goes out to you guys, and best wishes.
Second thing that I noticed, is how great this webboard is. I am not a senior poster (not like many who have post counts in the thousands), nor an M5 owner, but to see so many people of different backgrounds come together to support fellow members is fantastic. A really wonderful group of guys and girls on this board, and I am glad to be a part of it. to you guys.
Hopefully soon there will a time when everyone can get resolution on their issues with RMS. Till then, let's hope these threads have saved some potential customers from loosing money and much more. Best of luck everyone.

Re: MUST READ Articles for the True Enthusiast

To think, before all this started, my only experience with "RMS" was the rating of stereo power amplifier output! Too bad it didn't stay that way.

"Is it the sounds that make a BMW a BMW? A BMW is designed to be heard, felt, experienced. So our engines sing. Our steering talks back. And we insist on offering manual transmissions in nearly all our models for drivers who crave them. The result is an almost telepathic oneness with the car. Just as surely as you can hear a BMW, a BMW hears you."

Re: MUST READ Articles for the True Enthusiast

Gustav

I think this post should be stuck up on the top as a place for people to talk about not only RMS problems but general vendor/horror stories. We are always talking about the best place to get this or that but I really think a "stay away from here" or “Vendor Reviews” section is needed. Keeping with the spirit of this board as a wealth of resources it only makes sense.

If nothing else to warn new people to the boards of potential problems they might run into.

Re: MUST READ Articles for the True Enthusiast

Fast...

stimpy is fine...ive been called worse i guess.. HA HA.

Supercharged has a great idea...

i think well documented cases of bad dealers/vendors should be "sticky'ed" somewhere

seems like enough people have been abused by RMS to warrant such a thing
