Exclamation Poll: Which Bmw is the Greatest Ever ?

This question actually came to my head as i was driving the beast and turning heads along the road. I was thinking could this car be it ? Any thoughts anyone ? Non-production bimmers are welcomed too. This is a matter of opinion.

P.S. McLaren F1 is only partially BMW. So this car is excluded.

well, in some ways the 507 saved the company, and the 2002 was a big part of the creation of the sports sedan category. The E36 M3 showed that M is actually a vaulable brand, while the first M3 showed there is at least a small market for M products, and the M1 is just so freakin cool. The new cars have the benefit of the latest engineering. I dont know if I could just pick one, but Ill pick the M3 line of cars. These prove that you can have both an enthusiast car and a pretty pratical car all in one.

good question.
