I'm all for cars that drive themselves, providing that there is a "manual override" for people like us. For example, my first Honda Accord was rear-ended, as was my M3. In each case, a woman driver was not paying attention! Now, if they had a radar that decided to stop for them, I'd be very happy, they'd be happy, and so forth... everybody wins!
I'm not scared about cars that drive themselves, but somebody like Senator Finestein saying that there is no reason for citizens to have cars with more than 200bhp, because it wastes energy, pollutes the environment, and kills children in accidents that result from irresponsible driving, and so forth.
