Post Imola Red Available in Two Weeks/ MSRP

All,

Well, I did not get the offers close enough to MSRP to sell my MY2000 carbon black. So, I will be keeping it and helping the dealer sell the car that is due in, in a week. It will have black luxury interior with the walnut wood, with folding rear seats and yes it is Imola Red.

If you are interested I will put you directly in touch with the dealer. It is a MSRP deal. My email is g5harlan@aol.com.

Mark,

Sorry to hear that you will not be joining us Imola guys! However, at least you still have your black BEAST to put a smile on your face!

When will you be back in Houston for business and/or pleasure? I would like to plan an M5 gathering in Houston some time during the month of June?

Hi Mark,

Can you give us some feedback on your sale effort?

We're all under the impression the Cal market is still strong, with cars selling for $25k over.

Thanks

All,

Well, new cars here are still selling for $7k to $15k over list, but I have not been able to get any interest in a MSRP sale on mine. Fickle market. If someone wanted mine at MSRP I would still do it, but no luck so far. I only have a couple of days before I need to let the salesman know.

If it does not happen, I will still be happy with the carbon beast. If you have any leads, please pass them on, otherwise I will let some lucky other guy walk into the imola car.

Mark,

what is the best offer you got on it?? did you get at least in the mid to high $60's? how many miles did you say you had on it?

I think what is going on here... is twofold..

1) The stock market has definitely softened up demand by removing a certain number of buyers, therefore making more cars available

2) since more cars are available, and you can pretty much get a new one these days at MSRP (at least anywhere else beside CA?) .... I think you/we would have a real hard time getting MSRP for a used 2000 car. I think you could maybe swing MSRP on a used 2001 car right now, depending on what part of the country the buyer is in?

I could be wrong on this, but this is how I see it? I suppose you just need to decide how bad you really want the 2001 Imola beast?
Good luck! Although it sounds like you have already made up your mind?...

As I said before, you are not in bad shape right now, as you already have a BEAST!

I offered Mark $63k for his car which was a very fair offer for a used 2000.

On the retail market there are currently 4 2000 Carbon Black M5s for $64-66k.

I am picking up a new 2001 for MSRP right now.

$7-15k over sticker is way off market as NO ONE is paying over MSRP for M5s right now with the economy in the toilet and plenty of used M5s available.

All,

Well as you can see the market has softened up a bit. I will be staying with the carbon black MY2000. I do have the Imola Red MY2001 that will be available in two weeks. It is a MSRP deal and I am happy to pass it on to someone who would like it.
