E39 M5 White dials?

Guys,

Is it me or do some people have white dials in the M5's ? I have noticed in some pics it looks like the round dials (inside the rings) are white - but closer inspection shows it to be reflections....

I would love a set of white dials in mine....

Re: E39 M5 White dials?

I do not beleive anyone has white dials in their M5s. BMW had black dials in the M5 for 2000 and then switched to silver dials in 2001. I think you are possibly seeing silver that is reflecting back a lighter color (i.e- white). I know some people have changed their black dials to silver, so I think it is possible to be able to switch your silver dial to a white one if you wanted to. Hope this helps.

Re: E39 M5 White dials?

Whiz, I think its the reflection from your leather interior!
Grey dials are the current ones from 2001 (as TC mentions), but I prefer the black dials

You can replace them with different fascia surrounds, but I think you lose the BMW ///M feel.

Re: E39 M5 White dials?

Hi Guys...

I found an example of what I meant in one of the former posts about the dials...

http://195.172.152.75/pics/dials.jpg

I myself have grey dials, but they don't look as light as these...

Guess - I may be losing sight of things, as I do in my rear view mirror ("the black hole")

Re: E39 M5 White dials?

All dials when they reflect light become lighter in color
