Need your opinion, Should I buy NEW Dinan rims and its rubber............

Hi Guys,
I have an opportunity to get the Dinan rims (all 4) and Yokohama rubbers from a person I know. The rims & rubber have 35 miles on them, so they are in brand new condition.
I can buy this setup for $3000.00. Should I do it?
Here is why Im asking for your opinion. The guy is doing me a favor with the sale price. I have on my 03 beast the 19" Racing Dynamic RS II rims with Pilot Sport rubbers on the rims. 255's on the front and 295's on the rear end.
The rims are awesome and my rubber is no where near bald/worn out. I did sell my stock rims some time ago but I really don't see the need for another set of rims, simply to sit in my garage. I however do want to get the Dinan rims, since they are very nice looking and its a fantastic offer/price! Your thoughts and opinions please.
What to do or not to do!?!?
Thank you.
Robert

I'd do it. In fact, if you don't want them, let me know and I'll jump on the offer

Just had Dinan wheels put on the car today (with PS2s). They are REALLY nice looking. Can't yet tell you what I think about the performance as I really haven't had a chance to put them through their paces.

If you're only paying $3K, they're a bargain. Go for it.

Jeff, do us all a favor and go on out and take some high-res pics of the new rims/rubber.

I bet they look great. I personally think that the Dinan rims are the best looking aftermarket wheel for our Beasts. And I'd love to hear what you have to say about the PS2s when you are able to come up with something.

Robert:

You should ONLY buy these Dinan rims IF you had been contemplating on buying these specific rims before this offer came about! 3-Grand is 3-Grand and those dollars can be much better spent ... Unless of course you wanna in the wheel and tire biz!!

Personally ... I don;'t care for the looks of the Dinan wheels. I much prefer the HRE 540r (brushed finished), the Fikse Profil10's, BBS LM or the OZ Superleggera III's. Hey ... But that's My Taste ... Not yours.

IMHO ... The way you want your Beast to look should NOT be DEAL driven ... It should come Firstly from your Imagination ... and lastly from your wallet and these's a whole lot of technical and quality issues between those two.

AND That's my honest opinion!!

They do look nice. At first I thought they looked kinda weird because their shinier than the OEMs (which are actually powder coated with a grey color whereas the Dinans are clear coated aluminum).

But after taking several trips (ostensibly to get away from my desk... ) to gaze at them I think they look very aggressive.

When I had the tires installed, I had the mechanic spin balance tires on the car. At speed with the fronts going maybe 80 mph, there was zero vibration in the steering column.

I'll take pics after I have a chance to clean the tire sidewalls (they have bead compound all over them.)

I'll give you a tire performance reading once I've driven on them for a week or so. However, take a look at another thread I started today on asymmetric, unirotational tires...

I agree with gr8. I also looked at HREs (540r also), Fikses (Profil 5s) and also Cargraphic. Didn't want to go with 19s so it came down to the Dinans, HREs, and Fikses. At the end of the day, I decided I liked the Dinans better because I thought they looked the best. So if you like the Dinan look, the $3K is a bargain.
